Black Sand Beach Maui tickets are required for day visitors that are not residents of Hawaii. The beach is located within Waianapanapa State Park, one of the state parks in Maui that has entry fees.
Entry tickets are required, as well as parking tickets if you plan to drive yourself to Wainapanapa State Park and park your vehicle in the parking lot in the park.

All ticket purchases for Waianapanapa State Park must be made in advance. Tickets can be purchased up to 30 days ahead of the date of your visit. Same-day tickets to Black Sand Beach Maui are not available.

Once you receive confirmation of purchase and the attached tickets with QR codes, make sure you download them or print them out before arriving at the park, since cell reception at the park can be spotty.
You will need to show the QR codes to park staff upon arriving, so they can scan you in.
